While I knew the announcement was this week, I’d forgotten it was today. But since I’m on the East Coast right now I wasn’t awakened by a scary four-in-the-morning phone call. I was just having coffee and reading when I saw my phone lit up, and that my publicist was trying to get in touch with me. I put it together: `Oh, great, I must have gotten a Golden Globe nomination!’

David Duchovny, nominated for best actor in a TV series, comedy or musical for Showtime’s Californication.

Californication’s David Duchovny, who won best male comedy performance this year, is nominated for the same award again.

The show will also compete for Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical against 30 Rock, Entourage, The Office and Weeds.

“It’s a good thing for the show,” Duchovny said. “I always love that (the show’s creator) Tom Kapinos can be acknowledged for the great work he’s doing. He’s had two great seasons.”

For Duchovny, it’s the kind of comedic role that he’s wanted to play for a long time and unlike anything he’s done in his career. He credits Kapinos and the writing staff’s “smart and emotional and edgy” dialogue and the fact that the extremes are suffused with a feeling of sentimentality ad family. “It seemed very adult and very real to me,” Duchovny said. “It’s really an honor to be able to do it.”

The Globes will be broadcast by NBC on Jan. 11.

As part of Saturday’s all-day celebration for the recent re-opening of St. John the Divine, the high-wire master Philippe Petit, artist-in-residence and subject of the recent documentary “Man on Wire,� gave a half-hour show at the cathedral in the afternoon.

As part of the show Petit put a short tightrope performance - with an assist from several people in the crowd, including former “X-Files� star David Duchovny (in brown jacket.)

David Duchovny is training for a triathlon.

‘The X Files’ star - who is a regular competitor in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon - has been getting into shape at renowned fitness expert Robert Pennino’s indoor triathlon training class in New York.

The actor missed out on this year’s event because he was being treated for sex addiction at a rehabilitation clinic.

Olympic swimming champion Dara Torres was also seen training alongside the star.

David has previously vowed to better actor Tate Donovan, who won the 2005 competition in the celebrity division.

He said: “I have a vendetta against him now because he finished so far ahead of me that he was actually at the finish line with a glass of champagne and getting massaged, cheering me on as I passed.

“This is war now! If you’re going to finish and shower and comb your hair and then watch me finish that’s not right.”

Gillian attended the Women in Film and Television Awards held at the Hilton Hotel Park Lane in London today.

The awards, which have been running since 1990, celebrate the achievements of women in the film, television and digital media industries.

She presented the UIP / WFTV new director award to Susanna White, the director of films such as Jane Eyre and television series including Generation Kill and Bleak House.

If this is how David Duchovny and Téa Leoni behave during a separation, we can’t wait for the second honeymoon!

In the Dec. 15 issue of Star — on sale now! — we report that, despite the couple’s announced separation, they recently brought their two young children to a Tasti D-Lite store on Manhattan’s Upper East Side — and their PDA left no doubt about the love they still feel for each other.

“They were holding hands, and at one point, I saw David rub Téa’s back,” an eyewitness tells Star. “They seemed incredibly loving.”

Residents of their new Manhattan neighborhood will be seeing plenty of David and Téa acting like a couple of love-struck teenagers. Star has also learned that the duo have bought a $7.5 million, four-floor maisonette with its own entrance in a large building in the East Seventies — and are subletting an apartment together in the same building while they complete another $5 million in renovations! The “exes” plan to move into their new apartment late this month.

“Right now, they’re just keeping things quiet and working on their relationship,” says a friend of David and Téa. “They’re giving it another go because they really do love each other deeply.”
